Lost and found

Lilly is great at trying to keep up with her big brother. And she plays the role as the "pesky little sister" really well. I think she invented the title. Walker had his best buddy over after school to play and of coarse Lilly tags a long as well. It takes a lot of energy to keep up with Walker.I'm exhausted at the end of the day! When Cooper left to go home Walker put on a movie to relax.I told him to go get Lily to watch the movie with him.He came back a few minutes later and said he couldn't find Lilly."What do you mean you can't find Lill," I asked. "I guess she's gone."was his suggestion. Lilly is always where Walker is. So we  started searching outside and around the house. I wasn't in panic mode yet.(But panic was just around the corner) Walker and I looked everywhere.(mostly I looked everywhere) Then I heard a slight muffled sound in the office and found my Lilly asleep on the floor in the computer room. She was exhausted from keeping up with the boys.It boggles my mind how babies and children can fall asleep anywhere . I didn't move her, she looked to peaceful.

The truth about Sunday mornings

Almost every Monday Walker is grounded or has lost a privilege, because the "poor" decisions Walker makes on Sunday morning. It usually starts Saturday night. He will ask,"Is tomorrow church?" " Yes,"I say, "tomorrow is church." Yea!! Then immediately after he starts to say things like;  "I hate church, church is dumb, church is ugly, and I'm not going."But he soon is distracted until Sunday comes along! We have 9:00 O' clock church and we are always in a hurry.  But Walker starts the whining and complaining pretty early on( about Saturday.) This morning he threw a fit about getting on his church clothes, brushing his teeth, and combing his hair. He gets a warning to change his behavior and then a punishment. Walker loves Video games so when I take them away he acts like I am taking away his left arm or something. So He made the choice to be naughty and so I grounded him  from video games. This seems to be our routine almost every Sunday. He loves primary and is fine once we are there, but its getting there that is our problem. And he's only five. I thought "the I hate going to church" stage started at eleven or twelve, not five years old!

Orem Owlz game

Friday night we met up with the Boxx family at the Owlz game. It's one of the last games of the year. You can defiantly feel fall is in the air! We went and got tickets and went to dinner w/ just Walker and Lilly. We left Ella w/a sitter. It was the first time, I ever left her! But she did great. Dinner was fun. its crazy how just having the two kids made it so much easier. We had grass seats up on the hill, you cant have a bad seat at the Owlz game. When the kids weren't watching the game they could go play on the jungle gym, and they loved playing on the hill tackling each other, and rolling down the hill.  Of coarse Lilly had to have a treat, but she shared w/ everyone! It was a great time.It was really fun being with the Boxx's and their cute family.I know that fall is just around the corner and I love that, but that means winter is close too.And Utah winters are brutal!Anyway, we had a great weekend with the kids, and enjoyed the beautiful fall weekend!

Today, seven years ago our country was attacked. I remember watching it on t.v like everyone else and thinking in my head,"is this for real."Unfortunately, it was real and is still so real today. I've seen on t.v a million times over the airplanes crashing into New York city's Twin Towers and people running desperately. they are images I'll never be able to forget. It was such a sad and scary time. I remember being at work at the time and everything came to a stop and we were all glued to the news. Tyler and I were just married and I felt so useless just sitting there watching all these people suffer.I know I couldn't sleep that night, being somewhat frightened that act of terrorism wasn't over and what could possibly happen next.I just think how sad our Heavenly father must have felt that day watching, his children do such horrible acts to one another.I just know how very greatly I am to live in the United States and have the freedoms we have. I know I take it for granted.... a lot.Do you remember where you were 7 years ago?

Sunday afternoons

Tyler has been really busy with work and has put in a lot of hours. So after church it was really nice to just relax and have some family time together. I love just having a lazy Sunday. On Saturday  I decided to take Walker's training wheels off his bike. We practiced for awhile, and then he decided he didn't care if ever learned how to ride a bike. Walker gets frustrated really easy. Then it makes me frustrated that he's so frustrated. So I decided to have tyler give it a try w/ him. So once again Ty and Walker went out and practiced riding a big boy bike. He was doing a really good job, but gave up all to quick.I know if he put forth a little effort he would get it in no time. But I've also learned I cant push him and to help him when he's ready. I'm getting to be pretty wise!

Lilly's 1st day of preschool

Lilly had her first day of preschool last Thursday. She watches Walker get ready for school and sees him leave for kindergarten and she wants to go so badly. So she has been waiting to go to school for a while now.Everyday she asks if she gets to go to school. On Thursday I was able to say "yes." She already knew what she wanted to wear and how she wanted her hair done. She was really excited. She walked right into her preschool class and did everything her teacher wanted her to do. I was expecting her to cry or not want me to leave, but she didn't. I gave her a kiss and made sure she was settled in her class . It was kind of a bitter sweet moment. She really enjoyed her first day at preschool. It helps that she has a teacher that really enjoys it, and has a lot of Patience with little children. I'm excited for Lilly to have a fun year.

sick weekend

I hate being sick! But even worse, I hate it when one of my kids are sick. So lucky me, this weekend both of my kids were sick. Lilly had a fever on Thursday night and it continued over to Friday. I looked in her throat and knew it was Strep. So I took her to the Doctor Saturday morning and sure enough!  Strep. Then when I got home from the doctor's office Walker was running a fever. I kept him home from church(which he was really happy about!) That's a whole nother story on how my five year old throws fits about going to church. Anyway, he ran a fever most of the weekend. I thought for sure an ear infection, but he seems to be o.k today. Can ear infections cure themselves? So to say the least we didn't do a whole lot this weekend.
