1st day of kindergarten

Walker had his 1st day of kindergarten on Monday! he was so excited, he got up dressed himself, brushed his hair, brushed his teeth, and got his back pack all ready! He had all this done before 7:00(school starts at 8:45.) So he had a while to just hang out and wait! He was extremely excited. He went to is class just great, and played on the playground. I just kind of stood their and watched him for a minute, and then realized he didn't need me. How sad is that? But I was glad he did so well. However, when I picked him up, and asked about his day he said, "it was stupid, and boring."And that he didn't want to go back.

DAY 2- When Walker said he didn't want to go back to school, he meant every word. He got up this morning and informed he was done w/ that stupid school.(those are his words) He threw the BIGGEST fit this morning as we were getting ready.I had to physically get him dressed, comb his hair, brush his teeth, and put him in the car. It took every ounce of Patience in my body to not want to beat him!  What happened to my big boy? We said prayers and  I asked Heavenly father to help Walker have a good day, and to help him be happy.Fortunately, he came home and said school was better today. THANK GOODNESS ! Bring on day 3!

The drive from.....

There are not words to describe the drive home from  New Mexico. I wish I could use such adjectives like, wonderful, harmonious, quiet, or even fun! But instead the drive home was like HELL! And that's putting it mildly! Ella did not want to be in her car seat and she let us know it by screaming her head off, Lilly started crying about 1 hour into the ride, and asking if we "are there yet"(its an 8 hour drive). I watched Lion King twice, Gatorade was spilled all over the vehicle (twice, maybe three times)And the constant nagging, crying and screaming! I know it may not sound that bad, but I assure you it was. When Tyler couldn't take it anymore he pulled over on the freeway  and told the kids "to get out" and go hunt for lizards! Needless to say the eight hour drive turned into almost 11!! NEVER AGAIN!! And NO MORE CHILDREN!

Here is Tyler and the kids on the side of the road looking for lizards.

New Mexico wedding

What a weekend! Aunt Emily (Tyler's  sister) got hitched this weekend in New Mexico. We were going to leave on Thursday but I came down w/ that stomach bug that makes you wish you were dead. So we didn't even know if we were going to make it.Fortunatley, for me Tyler was home on Thursday and took over. He took care of the kids, he made breakfast, lunch and dinner for the kids, folded A LOT of laundry, packed , cleaned out my car and took care of me! Seriously, I don't know what I would've done w/o him. He's truly the best!
So we left on Friday to New Mexico. The kids traveled well, and we made pretty good time. We had a great time with all of  the Atkin family (except Rich and Mary). Saturday was the wedding at the Albuquerque temple. Emily looked beautiful and happy. The sealer did a wonderful job. Then we had a lunch for all the family. The reception was beautiful. There is something about a beautiful back yard reception w/ little white tents all over the place!  Also at the reception was a pretty Lily pond that all the kids thought was fascinating, and just couldn't leave it alone! so guess who's kid  gives into the temptation and the council of wise parents and decides to get all wet and smells like like a swamp! If you guessed my Walker, then you are correct! However, all the other cousins were dirty as well. But that was our Que it was time to go! The kids a great time swimming w/ grandpa at the pool, and they love being with their cousins and grandparents.

it goes so dang fast

Is it the older you get the quicker time seems to go by? Or is it the more kids you have the quicker it goes by? It's both. Ella is 5 months today. I cant believe it,its gone so fast. She such a happy, delightful baby. She's starting to get so much personality and smiling all the time. She was meant to come to our family. Her being 5 months also means I haven't slept in 5 whole months. But she's worth it!

Walker's birthday party

I am that mom that said,"I will never do a Chuckie Cheese birthday." What kind of name is "Chuckie Cheese" anyway? Walker has been talking about going to Chuckie Cheese for his 5th birthday for almost a year now. He invited his 6 best buddies to come. I had six little boys packed in my Expedition all they talked about  was Spiderman vs Ironman, how totally cool Indiana Jones is, and how tough all their dads are.I laughed out loud many times over. The boys each got their own tokens, played games, ate pizza and cake and saw Chuckie Cheese! They all got along great and had a good time. Walker said it was his best birthday EVER! Happy Birthday Walkerman
